For the past few weeks Atwood Oceanics (NY:ATW) has traded in a consisten pattern. While moving in an upward trend, the stock makes a new high, retreats a few points on two to three sessions of increased selling pressure, and then continues to move higher until a new high is made.
After last weeks sell off […]

ATP Oil and Gas has been trading higher for the past few weeks on strong upward volume. With the stock now trading at 55 times forward earnings, insiders and investors are looking to cash in on this recent uptrend.
In recent weeks executives of ATPG have sold shares in the mid 40’s, signaling a possible end […]

Going back to a previous article written in mid-February entitled LEN Head and Shoulders Pattern, I discussed the issues surrounding the homebuilders and the importance of the H&S pattern. Sure enough, Lennar (NY:LEN) plunged 10 points (or 20%) after making the original call. Let’s take a look at how this trend developed.
When the right shoulder […]

After making two reaction lows, LCA-Vision (NAS:LCAV) is moving toward the lower horizontal line to retest support at $41/share. In today’s trading session we should watch to see if the stock moves below this level, on increased selling pressure. If this occurs, LCAV may be an excellent intraday or short-term shorting opportunity.

Varian Medical Systems (NY:VAR) has moved lower in three consecutive sessions, forming what seems to be another downtrend. In the previous sell off, shares of Varian declined in eleven consecutive sessions after it lifted off of its 52-week low.
After waiting for the third red-bodied candlestick, I’m now confident in shorting into the downtrend. The distance […]

Amdocs (NY:DOX) has been moving higher off last week’s upgrade from Goldman Sachs, albeit on much lower volume (that’s an ideal scenario.) As the stock approaches resistance at $36, look for volume to expand and push the price above that level. The low point of the trend to the breakout is $3.10, giving us a […]

You will never see me buy a stock solely on the recommendation of an analyst. There’s a lot of research that goes into every trade, especially on tech companies. Sandisk (NAS:SNDK) has made several runs toward its 50-day SMA, and finally the stock is trading above that resistance level. Take a look at the six-month […]

I have been following a trend on Garmin (NAS:GRMN) for quite some time, and began aggressively trading the stock in recent weeks. In the chart below, you will see how the stock has been bouncing off of the lower support channel, and moving two points above the previous top. After forming a new high […]

Regeneron (REGN) posted fourth quarter ‘06 and full-year earnings yesterday, narrowly missing the Street’s estimates for net income. Revenue sharply declined to $10.3 million, down from last year’s Q4 revenue of $17.4 million. Their full-year loss widened to $102.3 million from a year-ago loss of $95.4 million.
The company has great drugs in their pipeline, as […]

This week I discovered a pattern developing on FAST. As we can see in the chart, when this stock reaches $38, the price cannot seem to break through the resistance level and moves lower. As the lower ascending trend line moves closer to the resistance level, selling pressure will continue to weaken. Once the downward […]
