ATP Oil and Gas has been trading higher for the past few weeks on strong upward volume. With the stock now trading at 55 times forward earnings, insiders and investors are looking to cash in on this recent uptrend.
In recent weeks executives of ATPG have sold shares in the mid 40’s, signaling a possible end […]

Following up on Michael’s write up of Amazon Inc (NAS:AMZN) on April 5th, I concur with him that shares of the world’s biggest e-retailer is way overvalued. Today after the close of the bell they report earnings, I think no matter what the results the stock will sell off in AH trading.
This afternoon I shorted […]

All Internet stocks rely on one factor to generate revenue: website traffic. Priceline, eBay and Amazon generate all of their profits from a web-based storefront, so monitoring the website’s traffic ratings will be a great indicator of the company’s performance.
Amazon (NAS:AMZN) has been on a nice run this past week amid news of their new […]

After making two reaction lows, LCA-Vision (NAS:LCAV) is moving toward the lower horizontal line to retest support at $41/share. In today’s trading session we should watch to see if the stock moves below this level, on increased selling pressure. If this occurs, LCAV may be an excellent intraday or short-term shorting opportunity.

Varian Medical Systems (NY:VAR) has moved lower in three consecutive sessions, forming what seems to be another downtrend. In the previous sell off, shares of Varian declined in eleven consecutive sessions after it lifted off of its 52-week low.
After waiting for the third red-bodied candlestick, I’m now confident in shorting into the downtrend. The distance […]

Regeneron (REGN) posted fourth quarter ‘06 and full-year earnings yesterday, narrowly missing the Street’s estimates for net income. Revenue sharply declined to $10.3 million, down from last year’s Q4 revenue of $17.4 million. Their full-year loss widened to $102.3 million from a year-ago loss of $95.4 million.
The company has great drugs in their pipeline, as […]

Weyerhaeuser (WY) has been on a strong rally, with shares appreciating more than 50% since hitting a 52-week low in July of last year. Now trading at $85/share, this stock is on my radar for a nice short selling opportunity.
In the company’s fourth quarter of ‘06, strong sales in the fine paper and real estate […]

Over the past few weeks a head and shoulders pattern has been forming on Lennar’s stock. This stock has been enjoying a nice rally off of its lows, albeit in a weaker uptrend due to the continued weakness in the homebuilder industry. With Toll Brothers disclosing their weaker than expected earnings yesterday, this stock is […]

Amid recent conflicts (union contracts) at their Pennsylvania plant, Harley Davidson (HOG) shares have been under heavy selling pressure in recent sessions. Workers overwhelmingly rejected the company’s three and five-year contract proposals, and officially went on strike this past Friday. Analysts expect the strike to have a rather large impact on earnings, costing the company […]

Over the past few weeks I have been searching for a new apartment in Boston, MA. Among the choices was a 1-bedroom apartment in the newly built Archstone Smith building, adjacent to the Boston Common. The building is nothing short of amazing and I was sold on the appearance alone. As I write this […]
